Our Staff
At Children's Connection we strive to create strong connections, both amongst the group of children and staff at school, and between the families. We operate as a small community - a smaller classroom community and the larger community of school families.
Luciane Ribeiro
Owner and head teacher, Luciane is a licensed teacher in Portuguese and Literature for grades 5 through 12 by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. She is also a licensed bilingual teacher (Portuguese/English) for grades 1 through 4 by the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a holder of a Master's degree in Children's Literature from Simmons College, Boston. Happily married to George Manetas and mother of two children, Maria Alice and Gabriel. Luciane has been living in the US since 1989.
Her husband George holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University, Boston, MA. George is a very talented and versatile cook. Owner of My Other Kitchen since 2014.
Their children, Maria Alice and Gabriel, share their love for sports, in particular soccer.
Peggy
Peggy, the new head teacher at Children's Connection received her Bachelors of Science from the University of Michigan in Botany. After 15 years working in her field she left to run her own home day care in order to spend more time with her son, then 18 months old. She cared for children in her home or their until 2014, when accepted a job as a preschool teacher at a small private EEC accredited preschool in Sudbury, MA.
While there she also attended graduate classes in early education at Tufts University. To Children's Connection she brings not only a love for children but a love for science, specially in the natural world, a love for art (her mother was a fine artist) and a love for music (both of her children studied Suzuki violin from early childhood through high school).
In her Free time she enjoys walking with her two small dogs, gardening, attending her daughter's college lacrosse games and coordinating and teaching in her church's youth group (7th - 12th graders) with her husband of 26 years.
